We hope our students prevent “The Summer Slide” by reading four to five good books this summer. Scholastic’s Read-A-Palooza is a fun way to do this.
Students enrolled at Tom Cox at the conclusion of the 2018/19 school year will receive login information from their language arts class and the library. Students who misplace this information will be able to get it from their ELA teacher until the end of the school year. Through July 15th, you can also contact firstname.lastname@example.org for login information. Please supply the student’s first & last name and an account will be set up for the student. If you have the student login and password you can access the login page here:https://digital.scholastic.com/#/signin
Students coming from the elementaries have received this information, but new 5th grader families may also contact Mrs. Houck for assistance in getting login information.
To help provide our community with access to good books, our Tom Cox Library will be open June 3 & 10, July 15 & 29, and August 5 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The Montgomery County Memorial Library is also a great resource for print and digital books.Free digital books can be accessed by using Apps such as LIBBY, Overdrive and Hoopla. To get started, all one needs to do is have a free library card from MCM Library and download the App from the App store. Additionally, the public library has their own summer reading program. You can find out about it by clicking on this link:South Regional Library Summer Reading Program 2019.
