Annual Honors

Each year every CISD campus votes for a Teacher of the Year and a Humanitarian of the Year. These honors are voted upon by written secret ballot from the faculty and staff of each campus.

The Teacher of the Year should be a person who represents your campus' concept of a good teacher in the classroom, with parents, and with colleagues. This person must teach in the classroom for more than 60% of their day. They must be members of any educational professional association.

The Humanitarian is any staff member who represents your campus' concept of a positive influence on the educational environment in your school. This is open to all staff memebers on your campus, full and part time.

The Friend of Education does not have to be elected. This is a community member, parent, organization, or anyone who has assisted in the educational environment in your school. Anyone on campus may submit the letter of recommendation. The only requirement is that the Friend of Education may not be an employee of the district.
