The Altar de Muertos is a traditional Mexican altar created to honor and celebrate the lives of deceased loved ones. This meaningful tradition, observed annually from October 31 to November 2, is a blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion, and Spanish culture.
The altars are beautifully decorated with photographs of the deceased, candles, marigolds, favorite foods and drinks, and personal objects, each item symbolizing love, remembrance, and the belief that the spirits return to visit their families during this special time.

Mrs. Dykehouse’s Ceramics & Sculpture II Students have been working hard on their Coil Building Method Project!
Coil building is a hand-building technique for shaping clay, which involves rolling out coils (ropes) of clay and stacking them to create a form. This method is one of the oldest in ceramics and can be used to create vessels like vases, bowls and other sculptures.
Look how creative and wonderful some of these projects are!
